Choosing BridgeU
Miami University is a public higher ed institution based in Oxford, Ohio. While they had made some in-roads into selected international student recruitment markets, they were looking to diversify into a wider range of countries.
Miami University hadn’t partnered with a third party organisation like BridgeU before, but were keen to work with BridgeU’s network of international schools across 140+ countries to help meet their diversification goals.

Content marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness
Aaron Bixler and the international admission team worked with BridgeU’s Enrolment Services team to build a number of bespoke campaigns that promoted the specific benefits of studying at Miami University, Ohio to prospective applicants researching US universities in the BridgeU platform.
The campaigns were designed to build general brand awareness with international school students who were interested in high-value, academically excellent universities in the USA, but may have been unaware of Miami University as a place to study.

Admissions & offer-holder events to improve conversion
Aaron and his team participated in a number of virtual events tailored to BridgeU international school students.
Admissions bootcamps
Miami University led a session as part of a multi-day BridgeU admissions bootcamp. These events, delivered to students in selected regions and markets, were designed to give prospective US applicants everything they need to know about the admissions process.
Student panels and pre-departure workshops
These events were designed for international applicants who were holding an offer from Miami University, Ohio.
BridgeU student panels allowed applicants to hear more about life on the Miami University campus from current international undergraduate students.
Meanwhile, BridgeU’s pre-departure workshops enabled Miami University offer-holders to get further information and resources to help them navigate the enrolment process.
These virtual events were also recorded and posted as on-demand videos in the BridgeU platform. This allows other prospective applicants to discover more about the undergraduate experience at Miami University throughout the course of the year.
Having more asynchronous content in the BridgeU platform also allowed the international admissions team to increase Miami University’s brand awareness with international students without having to expend additional time and resources.
The results
- Miami University’s content marketing campaigns reached over 10,000 unique students in 133 countries worldwide.
- The proportion of BridgeU students adding Miami Ohio to their shortlist on the platform increased by 18%.
- Furthermore, 72% of students who expressed interest in applying to Miami University on BridgeU sent in confirmed applications.
