If your school is looking to implement a guidance platform for the first time, you might want to know more about BridgeU and what you can expect from the platform.
To help, we’ve put together a list of the questions we get asked the most.

We believe that the best Higher Education decisions are made when students discover universities based on their unique preferences and personalities, and it’s this philosophy that has made us the market leader.
Our University Matcher uses an algorithm to generate a list of students’ best fit institutions and courses, so they can discover new places and expand their options.
With BridgeU, you also get much more than just a guidance software. We provide resources, content and lesson plans to help you through the academic year, and our dedicated Customer Success team is on hand to give training and live support whenever you might need it.
2. My school has students applying for university all over the world, not just the US or UK. Can we still use BridgeU?
Yes, absolutely! We want to help your students explore every opportunity available to them, no matter where it might be.
Currently, students can be matched with universities in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, and we’re always looking to add more countries. Students can also search for and shortlist any global university using the Global Shortlisting feature.
No, we are completely independent. Our Matcher uses a student’s target grades and personal preferences to generate its recommendations, and does not prioritise certain universities over others.
BridgeU currently supports students taking the International Baccalaureate (Diploma Programme and Career-Related Programme); the US system (4-point GPA, SATs and ACTs); the French Baccalaureate; and the UK system (A-levels, AS levels, BTECs, and PreUs).
We recommend using BridgeU with all of your students in grades 11 and 12, as this is when they will be researching and applying for university, and will be able to get the most out of BridgeU.
However, if you think BridgeU might only be relevant for a proportion of your students, we are happy to discuss this with you.
If you choose to, you can also use BridgeU with younger years (ages 13-16), to help them discover their strengths, explore different career pathways, and get them started with the university research process.
We get all of our university data from trusted organisations, such as: UCAS (UK); IPEDS (US); DUO (Netherlands); and JUPAS (Hong Kong). We also collect data from individual university websites.
For our careers data, we are partnered with Burning Glass Technologies. Burning Glass provides us with real-time insight into the job market by searching 40,000 global job sites every day.
We are GDPR compliant, and take our responsibility to protect staff, student, and parent data very seriously. We use personal data in order to provide service, to make the website better, and to notify users about changes or maintenance to the platform.
