Boosting Your Students’ Progress in BridgeU Just Got Easier!

We’ve introduced a brand new dashboard and in-platform features that keep your students on track and make it easy to reach out if they fall behind.

Here at BridgeU, we're always on the lookout for new ways we can improve you and your students’ experience on our platform.

That's why we're thrilled to unveil a brand new dashboard that brings together vital information and one-click access to key functions. It will streamline your students' guidance journey and ensure they are following the application journey you've put so much work into mapping for them.

You’ll know exactly how your students are progressing at a glance, and be able to take the necessary actions - like emailing them directly - if any are falling behind.

Let’s take a closer look at these in-platform updates and how they can help you keep your students on track!

A brand new dashboard

As soon as you log into your BridgeU account, you’ll be greeted with a simple but informative dashboard to give you an immediate overview of where students are on their application journeys.

It displays how many students:

  • In total at your school
  • Remain unregistered on BridgeU
  • Haven’t added country interests
  • Haven’t added subject interests
  • Have no universities on their shortlist
  • Have no universities in their application lists

For each category you can click to view the relevant students, so you know exactly who is working on what. We’ve even added a button to resend the registration email to unregistered students with one click, so they get on the platform and start their research as quickly as possible.

You can also see how students are getting on with tasks you’ve set them. Our handy pie chart shows you how many are still in progress, how many are ready for you to review, and how many have been approved.

You can filter the data displayed on your dashboard either by the advisor students are assigned to, or by their graduation year.

Using these features brings a whole host of powerful possibilities.

For example, it becomes really easy to identify which students could be falling behind, and get in touch before too much time has passed. We all know how quickly those application deadlines come around, so keeping them on-track is vital!

It’s also a great way of increasing and maintaining engagement even for middle years students who have just begun to consider their future paths.

And it really comes into its own for students in their penultimate year, who have lots of academic demands keeping them busy and could let university research fall to the wayside at the most critical time.

New filters to track student progress

You can also use our new filtering system to make sure all of your students are moving along the road to university application.

When you view the students at your school, you have a range of filters available. Before now, you could already filter by:

  • Advisor
  • Graduation year
  • Countries of interest
  • Labels

And we’ve now added even more filters that easily illustrate how students are progressing with their university research journey. These new ‘status’ filters are the same as the stats you get an overview of in your dashboard:

  • Students who haven’t registered on BridgeU
  • Students who have not yet entered their subject or country preferences (either in the Profile Builder or in the university exploration section)
  • Students who haven’t added any universities to their shortlist

With these filters, you can identify which students could be falling behind, and get in touch before too much time has passed. We all know how quickly those application deadlines come around, so keeping them on track is vital!

But it’s not just for last-minute bursts that this feature is so valuable. It’s a great way of increasing and maintaining engagement even for middle years students who have just begun to consider their future paths.

And it really comes into its own for students in their penultimate year, who have lots of academic demands keeping them busy and could let university research fall to the wayside at the most critical time.

Email students via BridgeU

Of course, it’s all well and good spotting which students might need a little extra encouragement, but that’s not all we’ve done! We’ve also made it easier than ever for you to get in touch with any dawdlers straight away.

You now have several options for contacting students. You can send them an in-platform message that students can read when they log in… But of course, if some students aren’t logging in often enough, that might not be the most helpful approach.

So we’ve made it easy to email students directly via your preferred email service.

You can email an individual student, select a specific group, or use filters to create defined groups for you. Simply choose the option to send them an email and a new email addressed to the student(s) will launch automatically, just like magic!

If you don’t use Gmail, don’t worry. This will work with your default mail app, be it Windows Live Mail, Outlook, Apple Mail, or something else! And if your school uses a custom webmail, you can copy the students’ email addresses to the clipboard and paste them directly into any programme you like.

This new feature gives you the flexibility to compose any message you see fit, and make it much more personalised and detailed than an automated reminder. Plus, students can reply directly to your emails if they have any questions or concerns.

It’s an effective way to re-engage students and find out any obstacles that could be causing delays.
